Rolla, MO – The new Mobil On the Run at 1710
North Bishop in Rolla, Missouri will not only be
celebrating the Grand Opening of their new facility, but
they will also be celebrating the opening of the city’s
first E85 fueling pump and tank. The station plans to
offer E85 for 85 cents per gallon from 10 a.m. until 5
p.m. tomorrow.
E85 is a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent
gasoline. It can be used in vehicles such as the Ford
Taurus, the Chevy Avalanche, and the Dodge Stratus.
Thousands of E85 compatible vehicles, also known as
flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs), drive on Missouri roads
today.
“I’m excited to see this clean-burning, alternative fuel
come to the city in which I was raised,” said Phil
Lampert, Executive Director of the National Ethanol
Vehicle Coalition (NEVC). “We have been assisting with
placing E85 fueling systems across the country and I
recently attended grand opening events in Boise, Idaho and
Houston, Texas. It’s especially gratifying to be
assisting to bring made in Missouri fuels to my hometown.”
The station plans to celebrate the opening of the facility
for three days. Mobil On the Run will be giving away
samples of food and many prizes. The station also plans
on washing windows and pumping fuel. A live radio remote
will occur tomorrow and Saturday. Popular children’s
characters will also be present throughout the three day
event including Mr. and Mrs. Claus on Saturday.
The new E85 tank and pump is a collaboration of efforts
between the Mobil On the Run, the NEVC, and the Missouri
Corn Growers Association (MCGA).
“I'm very pleased to
acknowledge another partnership success that has resulted
in a new E85 facility in Rolla,” said Gary Marshall. "The
MCGA is proud to be a part of this collaboration that
makes E85, made from Missouri corn, a more prominent fuel
in this state.”
The station will be open 24
hours-a-day, seven days a week. It includes the
pay-at-the-pump option with Speedpass, a multi-bay car
wash, ATM, foodservice, laundry mat, diesel, regular
gasoline, and much more.
To see if your vehicle is E85 compatible, check your
owners manual, look inside your fuel door or visit
www.E85Fuel.com where you can find a
complete listing of FFVs.
The National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition is the nation’s
primary advocate dedicated to the use of 85 percent
ethanol as a form of alternative transportation fuel.
