Fuel for 85 Cents Per Gallon at
Aurora, NE Fueling Station

Aurora, NE – E85, a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline, will be available at the Aurora Cooperative Service Center today from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. for 85 cents per gallon. The promotion is part of the Grand Opening celebration of their second E85 pump which is located at 1318 M Street in Aurora, Nebraska.

“We are excited about bringing another E85 location to Nebraska,” said Brett Faber of Aurora Cooperative. “We feel it is important to support the local economy, and I can't think of a better way than to promote a fuel made practically in our own backyard from crops of our local producers.”

E85 is primarily made from the bi-products of corn. The fuel is clean burning, renewable and has an octane rating of 105. It can be used in about 3.5 million flexible-fuel vehicles (FFVs) on American roads. FFVs, or vehicles that can be powered by E85, include those such as the GM Tahoe, Ford Taurus and Dodge Stratus. To see if your vehicle can fuel with E85, check under the fuel door or visit www.E85Fuel.com.

Aurora Coop’s event will begin at 9 a.m. when KRVN radio will broadcast live from the station. The local Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter will then start fueling vehicles with the clean-burning alternative fuel.

“All proceeds from the E85 for 85 cent promotion will go to the FFA chapter,” commented Faber.

Todd Sneller, Executive Director of the Nebraska Ethanol Board and Chairman of the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition added, “The Aurora Cooperative is to be commended for their active advocacy of E85 and for the commitment to increase E85 fueling sites. The addition of another E85 pump helps to expand the geographic area in which Nebraskans can fill up on clean-burning E85. By offering another source of E85 the Aurora Cooperative is helping to expand the use of Nebraska produced ethanol while providing a fuel choice to owners of flexible fuel vehicles."

The station also offers E10, premium and diesel fuel. They plan to sell E85 ten cents less than E10 after the promotion. Aurora Cooperative’s second E85 pump is located at 1140 South Lincoln Avenue in Grand Island. Additional E85 facilities in Nebraska include those in York and Omaha. Addresses for these sites along with all E85 locations throughout the U.S. can be found on the NEVC website at www.E85Fuel.com.
