Washington,
D.C -
Today the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition (NEVC)
presented North Dakota Senator Byron Dorgan with a framed
E85 plaque in the Hart Senate Office Building. The plaque
is in recognition of Senator Dorgan’s leadership for the
use of E85 and his assistance in supporting the NEVC’s
efforts to establish a national E85 fueling
infrastructure.
E85, an alternative transportation fuel blending 85
percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline, can be used in
almost 3.5 million vehicles on American roads.
North
Dakota currently has four public E85 fueling facilities.
They include those in Devils Lake, Fargo, Oakes, and West
Fargo. More E85 sites plan to open this year.
“We are privileged to have such leaders as Senator Dorgan
support ethanol and E85,” said Phil Lampert, Executive
Director of the NEVC. “Senator Dorgan’s leadership has
directly resulted in the establishment of more than 200
public E85 fueling facilities across the nation. The NEVC
is honored to be able to work with forward looking members
of Congress such as Senator Dorgan.”
