E85 for 85 Cents in Jefferson City, Missouri

Jefferson City, MO – E85, a transportation fuel blending 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline, will be available for 85 cents per gallon at two Conoco stations in Jefferson City, Missouri, today,  September 24, 2003. The clean-burning, renewable fuel will be discounted from 10:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Conoco stations at 3714 West Truman Boulevard and 701 Eastland Drive.

“We invite you to fuel up for 85 cents per gallon with clean burning E85, ethanol-blended fuel made from corn,” says Gary Marshall, Missouri Corn Growers Association CEO. “When you do, you’ll ‘fuel good’ because ethanol reduces our dependence on foreign oil. It’s a renewable product made in America, and right up the road near Macon, Missouri.”

Many vehicles such as the Ford Taurus, Chevrolet Tahoe, and Dodge Stratus are flexible-fuel vehicles, or E85 compatible. Over three million such vehicles are on U.S. roads today. For a complete listing of E85 vehicles, visit http://www.E85fuel.com.

A kick-off press conference will be held at 10 a.m.  Hot dogs and beverages will be served and many ethanol promotional items will be given away at the event.

The promotion will be funded in part by Mike Kehoe Ford, Ford Motor Company, Jefferson City Oil Company, the Missouri Corn Growers Association, and the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition. Certain restrictions may apply.
