E85 and Ethanol Blends.

Flexibility for your customers.

The two most common types of pumps are an E85 pump, which distributes a mix that is exclusively 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent unleaded gasoline, and the ethanol flex fuel pump, which can distribute various blends of ethanol, E10, E20, E30, E40, E50 or E85 blends.

Flex Fuel Pumps: The Future, The Present

Today there are approximately 285 flex fuel pumps and more than 2,401 E85 pumps across the country. However, this is just the beginning of a full-scale movement to provide choice to consumers at the pump while at the same time reducing our dependence on foreign oil and simultaneously improving the environment. President Obama is committed to bringing biofuels such as ethanol to consumers. In the future, all retailers will be providing mid-level blends of ethanol to consumers – but by installing a flex fuel pump today, retailers are not only giving consumers a choice at the pump, but they are ensuring themselves a competitive advantage

An ethanol flex fuel pump gives FFV owners the opportunity to fill up with various ethanol blends based on pricing and their vehicle’s performance. Because this pump includes E10 as a standard choice for consumers, you are also providing a fuel that virtually every driver can use. Additionally, when you have an ethanol flex fuel pump at your station, you are showing your customers that you have their best interests in mind. And from a cost perspective, the latest ethanol flex fuel pump technology allows the cost of the dispenser to be spread across all blends and customers.

“We initially installed the pumps to broaden our supply chain to include biofuels. Blending dispensers allow us the flexibility to deliver a full array of biofuels to our customers. Our community has been positive and embraced our efforts to bring renewable fuels to them.” - Scott Zaremba, Kansas
